A call to the police for organizing a women's protest

The police of Olesnica, a city of thirty thousand in the Lower Silesian Voivodeship, summons for questioning the organizer of the protests against the verdict of TK. the prosecutor's office wants to investigate whether there was a violation of article 165 of the criminal code of the russian federation

However, after two weeks, the situation changed. activists planned to hold another demonstration on november 6. On November 3, the police called them and asked them to meet. They had heard that there would be no consequences for previous demonstrations, but subsequent ones would no longer be protected because too many officers had gone on leave because of the coronavirus. They were also warned that there could be arrests, fines, because these are orders from the top down. All this is due to the deterioration of the economy, among other things. In connection with the quarantine, the question of work is acute,and many move to the online sphere, knowing that you can earn additional income, as

"The police have already called the initiator of the first protest action. They said they supported us and would protect us. There was no question of any problems. there were no fines or detentions during the demonstration. when i was attacked by a man, the police dragged him away from us," says oko.press Rien Kasperovich, one of the activists.


Activists decided to cancel the meeting on november 6. Since then, no strike demonstrations have been held in Olesnica until today.
 

Calls come in


A few days later, "Panorama Oleśnicka", a local newspaper that was critical of the strike, reported that the District Prosecutor's Office in Gor had received an e-mail notification of the possibility of a crime committed by an activist. The speaker gave their names, and in his letters pointed out that”the organization of mass gatherings in the era of the COVID-19 pandemic has put the lives and health of many people at risk."


This week, the activists began to receive summonses for questioning as a witness in the case of violation of Article 165 of Article 1, paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation:

Who is a danger to the life or health of many people or to property on a large scale:
1) causing an epidemiological hazard or spreading an infectious disease or plague of animals or plants.

This crime is punishable by imprisonment for a term of 6 months to 8 years.

"We canceled our last walk, but it wasn't enough. we need punishment. We need punishment, because you can't fight for your rights like that. we're getting calls to the police. of course, as a witness to drive us into a corner. They tried with this 14-year-old but couldn't. this is now trying to contact us, " rien kasperovich writes on facebook.



Investigation in Warsaw


This is not the first such case in Poland. on thursday, november 26, the pro-government portal wpolityce.pl he said that the regional prosecutor's office in warsaw is also conducting proceedings on the case of violation of article 165 of the criminal code by the organizers of the protests. As in the case of Olesnitskaya, the trial is still "on the case", no one has been charged, the first witnesses are being questioned.

The investigators involved private individuals and pro-life activists. In addition to the issues of bringing to justice, the Prosecutor's Office should also investigate the following issues:

Insulting groups of people because of their religious affiliation with words that are usually recognized as offensive (Article 257 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, threatening punishment - up to three years in prison);
public call for illegal actions and pochwalania committing a crime to the detriment of the Catholic Church, malicious disturbing the population committing a religious act (art. 255 k. k. and up to two years in prison).
